In a recent development in the tragic case of Mahogany Jackson, a Birmingham mother whose life was brutally cut short, a significant arrest has been made. This arrest marks a critical juncture in the investigation, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding her untimely death and bringing the total number of suspects to eight.
The Incident
Mahogany Jackson, a mother from Birmingham, became the focal point of a harrowing case when she was reported missing last Sunday. Before a search party could be organized, the grim reality set in: the Birmingham Police Department was dealing with a homicide. Jackson had reached out to her family via text message on Sunday, February 25, expressing that she had been kidnapped. In a distressing turn of events, her body was discovered the following day in the 1700 block of Laurel Avenue, where investigators concluded she had been shot and sexually assaulted.
Charges and Suspects
In addition to Robinson, seven other suspects were previously arrested on various charges related to Jackson’s death, including felony murder, kidnapping, sodomy, and assault. These suspects are:

Latest Arrest
The Birmingham Police Department announced the arrest of 23-year-old Airana Robinson of Hueytown on Friday afternoon. Robinson has been charged with Felony Murder during a kidnapping, marking her as the eighth suspect arrested in connection with Jackson’s brutal murder. Prior to Robinson’s arrest, seven individuals had been apprehended on charges including felony murder, kidnapping, sodomy, and assault.
