In a case that has rocked a North Carolina community, 39-year-old Megan Stack Sattizahn has been arrested and charged with the murder of her 9-month-old daughter Samantha. The disturbing details that have emerged paint a picture of a troubled mother who claimed she killed her baby as an act of mercy, while also revealing a history of concerning behavior.
The Discovery
In the early morning hours of July 12, 2024, authorities in Catawba County, North Carolina received multiple calls about a suspicious person walking naked along Section House Road, north of the town of Conover. When deputies arrived on the scene around 5 AM, they encountered Sattizahn, who appeared disoriented. As they attempted to make contact, she fled on foot.
The deputies followed Sattizahn to a nearby home on Tanglewood Drive. Upon entering the residence, they made a gruesome discovery — the lifeless body of 9-month-old Samantha Sattizahn. While authorities have not released details about the infant’s cause of death, they immediately suspected foul play.
