Mysterious 911 Call With No Dialogue
According to an open records request, Riley’s phone dialed 911 during her untimely death last month. The content of the call has become a focal point for investigation, as it was made during a nationwide AT&T outage, raising questions about whether the service disruption affected the call’s efficacy.
Investigators have not released the call, citing O.C.G.A. § 50–18–72 (a) (26.1), which allows the withholding of records if a death is recorded. An Athens-Clarke County Police lieutenant confirmed that there was “no dialogue exists” on the call, emphasizing the importance of such calls in ongoing investigations.
