Arkansas Man Pleads Guilty in Horrific Child Murder Case
In a case that has gripped Arkansas, 34-year-old Nathan Bridges pleaded guilty on Monday to first-degree murder and first-degree battery in the death of 5-year-old Blu Rolland. The plea brings some closure to a disturbing saga that began in December 2022 when the child’s body was discovered buried under the floor of a home in Lee County, Arkansas.
The Guilty Plea and Sentencing
On July 18, 2024, the Arkansas State Police (ASP) announced that Bridges had entered a guilty plea in Lee County court. As part of the plea agreement, Bridges was sentenced to 60 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections. This substantial sentence reflects the severity of the crimes committed against young Blu Rolland and another child in the household.
The Discovery of the Crime
The case first came to light on December 16, 2022, when authorities made the grim discovery of Blu Rolland’s body buried beneath the floor of his family’s home in Lee County. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office quickly requested assistance from the Arkansas State Police’s Criminal Investigation Division, recognizing the complexity and severity of the case.
